Marcopolo Rail, manufacturer of the vehicles that will be part of the GRU People Mover system, delivered its first trains, which will circulate between the terminals of the São Paulo International Airport, in Guarulhos, and the train station of Line 13 Jade, of CPTM, Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos do Estado de São Paulo.

The People Mover model, called Aeromóvel A200, consists of two cars, in a composition of 24.7 meters in length, with the capacity to transport up to 2 thousand people per hour, in each direction. The vehicle has automatic opening of identified and easily accessible doors, air conditioning, fire prevention system, emergency exit at each end of the vehicle for disembarking on the road, space reserved for people with reduced mobility and easy access to the internal area, with eight wide doors.

Passengers will have at their disposal a 100% automated vehicle, with a high level of comfort and safety, operated and monitored by the Operational Control Center (CCO), eliminating the presence of a driver in the cabin. The internal layout was designed to facilitate and optimize the flow of passengers with bags in and out of the airport.

The development and production process included the creation of an exclusive industrial pavilion for the assembly of the People Movers and a specialized production team. The engineering involved in the project dedicated many hours to overcome the challenges of developing a customized product for the customer, offering the market a reliable solution of international quality.

All materials, components and equipment have been developed in accordance with the specific standards for metro rail systems. Our trains are manufactured following specific industry standards, which includes structural tests to ensure durability and robustness throughout the life cycle, as well as compliance with fire and smoke standards. We have quality controls in all manufacturing processes, such as the quality control of welds (N2).

The vehicles manufactured by Marcopolo Rail, in addition to 100% national production, are also characterized by a high rate of nationalization of components. Marcopolo currently produces several subsystems in its factories, such as seats and the entire interior of the vehicles, as well as external coatings, meeting international railway standards.
